Another Update: I have added a new feature that requires a valid email address. A verification email will be sent and then the comment will be approved. But I will still delete comments if I feel like it. I’m not sure if this will effect those of you already approved for comments. But I had to do it because of the evil trolls. Sorry.

Another Update: If you leave links to the Soros-funded Think Progress, or similar sites, I’ll remove the links. If you leave two or more links, chances are your comment will just get deleted. This site doesn’t have a sugar-daddy funding it. It’s funded by little ole me, and the bandwidth isn’t cheap. Don’t expect me to allow you to link to shills for politicians I fundamentally disagree with. (If you hit the tip jar over there on the right side of the page I could be persuaded to change my mind!)

Another Update: I love reading comments, but so many are coming in on old posts (months, or even years old) that I’ve decided to close comments after 21 days. That’s plenty of time to have your say. If you think differently, visit the home page and leave a comment on a current thread. Sorry, I just don’t have the time.

Update: Due to some technical difficulties with the old theme, I had to get a new theme. There is no comment number showing on the main page anymore. Just click “read more” and you will be able to leave a comment. Thanks!

Comments are encouraged, whether you agree or disagree with us. We do ask that you refrain from using foul language. Any comments that are obscene or hateful will be deleted.

Update: After some of the hateful, nasty comments posted I guess it’s time for a “comment rules” update.

This is a conservative site, hence the name. I don’t frequent liberal blogs and leave denigrating comments to the authors or other blog readers. I figure, they have their point of view and nothing I say is going to change their minds, so why bother?

That being said, I don’t mind comments from differing points of view, but come on people, grow up. Enough with the name calling. From now on, all comments calling me, or other commenters Nazi, racist, fascist, to name just a few, will no longer be tolerated. If you don’t like it you can go back to Daily Kos or Huff Po where you’ll be welcomed with open arms!

Update 2: There are a million spammers out there. If you leave a comment with more than 2 links it will automatically be put into the spam filter and I’ll have to catch it and approve it. So if you have something important to say and there are two links, please be patient. Once I notice it I’ll approve it.

And with regard to those who leave hate filled, profane comments: I may at times leave your comments for all to see – just to prove that it isn’t our side that’s evil and intollerant.

Update 3: It’s my site! I pay for the broadband. This isn’t a forum to bash our contributors and readers. I will delete any comment I please and I’ll even block your IP address if you really piss me off.

Update 4: After having the site hacked (it’s fixed now) I’ve decided to require that anyone who posts a comment for the first time has to have the comment approved. So if you post for the first time and your comment doesn’t show up right away, it could be that I’m away from my computer. On top of the hacker the site’s been getting hit with a ton of spam that’s slowing things down, so it could help with that, too. Thanks.
